Prince Edward County is an island community, nestled in Lake Ontario between Belleville and Napanee. It is well known for the white dune beaches, kayaking, birding, swimming, wineries, local farm stands, and of course, The ARTS. The County has hundreds of visual and performing artists, galleries and studios, and arts events. Adding the well-deserved title of "The Gastronomy Capital of Ontario" and the beautiful natural world, PEC is a wonderful place to visit and to live.
The County has been home to Judy for the last 25 years. Much of her inspiration for painting landscapes is found in the remarkable scenery provided by an island home. Each painting in this gallery is from a scene in Price Edward County. Each painting has a brief description including size, medium, and any interesting details. The paintings are for sale unless they have a SOLD sign on the work.

Although inspired by this earth and its diversity, Judy is particularly fond of painting skies, water, light and shadows. Each painting has a brief description including its size, medium, cost, and any descriptive details. The paintings use oil, acrylic, pastel, and mixed media on canvas, gallery canvas, board, and watercolor paper.

A 24" x 30" acrylic painting of Bedouin traveling to tourist camp groups with camels, ready for a day of rides and tours. The background is Wadi Rum, the location of the filming of Lawrence of Arabia. This painting is a reminder of my wonderful times in Jordan working with Generations For Peace. Not For Sale.
Abstract painting is both playful and challenging. Unlike landscape, it is always a surprise how the painting will turn out. There is a freedom in using fluid acrylics, that lets the paint guide the artist. Judy often pours the paint directly on the canvas or board, bypassing the use of a palette. She also uses very large palette knifes, brushes, spray bottles, handy tools and materials to add to the journey and exploration of this medium.
